Key Finding
To elucidate the cardiac cellular and molecular mechanisms of cardiac malformation, the authors administered pregnant mice with a single dose of all-trans retinoic acid (RA) at E8.5, as the CHD model. RA significantly impacted various CM subpopulations, particularly the outflow tract CMs at E9.0 by reduction of Tdgf1 expression.
