PD-L1 blockade or inhibition of PD-L1 expression increased neutrophil release from bone marrow and enhanced antifungal immunity. The study identified a Dectin-1/PD-L1 cascade through which beta-glucans restrain neutrophil mobilization, establishing PD-L1 as a negative regulator of antifungal innate immunity.
