Key Finding
Phagocytic-associated microglia with upregulated Mertk were identified in the early stage of AD mice. Collectively, the findings suggest that PPARγ-regulated, Mertk-mediated microglial synaptic engulfment contributes to early synaptic loss in AD, highlighting microglial Mertk as a potential therapeutic target for AD.
Countstar Connection
Countstar Rigel S2 served as the instrument for cell-count and viability assessment in the study's cell samples before single-cell analysis in the 2026 Theranostics study.
