Single-cell analysis identified an IGF1-positive stromal population associated with the initiation of decidualization, IL1B-positive stromal cells linked to gland degeneration and hemostasis, and immune-trophoblast signaling that may promote decidualization. An altered IGF1-positive to IGF1R-positive stromal-cell ratio was observed in unexplained implantation failure.
