Huaxia stem cell industry technology innovation strategic alliance, stem cell engineering branch of Chinese biomedical engineering institute, products national engineering research center and the national stem cell engineering technology research center on July 8, jointly issued "on joint development and clinical application of stem cell technology initiative, intended to regulate stem cell technology medical transformation, promote the construction of relevant laws and regulations, ethics and standards, to promote healthy and orderly development of a strategic emerging industries.

We call on relevant institutions and personnel engaged in stem cell technology development, therapeutic research and clinical application to consciously assume their social responsibilities and normative behaviors, and abide by the relevant national laws, administrative regulations, ethical norms, management norms and the international stem cell research society's guidelines on clinical transformation of stem cells.

We should be duty-bound to promote stem cell technology, product-related quality standards, as well as the formulation of clinical research programs and risk control plans, and actively promote the standardization and standardization process of research and development and application of stem cells in China.

We call on relevant scholars, experts, engineers, government officials and institutions to carry out extensive cooperation, actively promote the construction of stem cell technology innovation alliance, jointly break through the constraints and bottlenecks, and promote the formation and healthy development of the stem cell industry chain.

China still lacks relevant regulations and standards for the development and application of stem cell technology products, and so far no stem cell drugs have been approved. The period of strategic opportunity brought by stem cell regenerative medicine technology will not be long. Once we miss the opportunity, our country will be marginalized again in this technological revolution. We hope that the government will actively clarify the administrative division of labor, allocate necessary resources, and improve relevant policies, regulations and technical standards as soon as possible to meet the challenges of the stem-cell medical revolution.

Stem cell technology is widely regarded as an important part of human health engineering and biological medicine industry because of its potential application prospects in the three fields of life science, new drug development and disease prevention and treatment.
